Ramu Venkat has been a physiotherapist for just over 10 years now. He holds a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapy and Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Otago, New Zealand.
Ram is trained in Level 1 Dry Needling (western acupuncture)
He is trained in Clinical Pilates
He is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
Ram’s special interests are, postural aches and pains, headache and migraine treatment without drugs, neck pain, low back pain, sports injuries, spinal pain, joint stiffness, shoulder pain & rehabilitation, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon injuries, shin splints, foot and ankle pain, balance, ACL reconstruction rehabilitation, strapping and taping, looking at the biomechanical aspects in sports and sports injuries, individualised and targeted gym based programs. He is also involved in injury prevention in sports. He also has extensive experience in managing post-surgical & orthopaedic patients. He also teaches a group exercise program focusing on balance, strength and fall prevention. Ram believes strongly in educating people as to the causes and factors involved in their problems and empowering people in helping themselves. He has been involved in research activity of the shoulder region and has a publication in an international peer reviewed journal.
Outside of work, his interests include family and home, travel, camping, fishing and adventure sports. Ram plays soccer for Port Augusta Thunder, social volleyball for the Port Augusta Shews and recreational badminton.
